In an effort to maximize the education opportunities for students in Jacksonville and developing leaders who go beyond traditional expectations to advance outcomes for our students, TFA Jacksonville presents the Halverson Alumni Fellowship 2.0, a high impact leadership development program, where the 70-20-10 Leadership Development Rule and the Theory of Leadership framework outlines an ideal balance of learning structures for the development of high potential Jacksonville leaders.
General Fellowship Requirements
In addition to donating their talents to our children and the future of Jax, we are requiring fellows to commit approximately 8-10 additional hours per month toward fellowship activities, which may include, but are not limited to, any of the following:
o Participate in quarterly retreats, monthly meetings, and community development experiences
o Lead the development of corps members or alumni by facilitating quarterly professional development sessions
o Attendance at 3-5 TFA and/or community partner events (as either a leader or learner)
o Actively pursue the completion of your development goals by creating an IDP and strategically working to participate in career and adult facilitation coaching or development structures
What We're Offering:
1. Participation in (3) comprehensive leadership development trainings, with quarterly progress check-ins, over the course of one year (total of which is valued at over $7500).
o Each training will take place during a weekend retreat and will focus on equipping the fellow with tangible skills to improve leadership through reflection and experiential learning.
o Progress check points will allow Alumni to reflect, process, challenge and support each other as they work through their growth plans.
2. Up to $3,000 to the fellow over the course of one year:
o $1000 towards external PD opportunities/conferences aligned to the IDP
o $2000 paid as part-time staff for content support and training of new corps members*.
3. Monthly Professional Development Opportunities (a minimum of 12 over the course of the year)
Alumni fellows will serve as both facilitators and learners in community or network based professional development
4. Mentorship and Leadership Coaching (8-10 mentor meetings per year, minimum)
o Fellows will have access to education leaders in Jacksonville and across the nation who will serve to challenge and support in the achievement of the goals listed within their IDP
o Career and Systems Leadership Development
5. Creation of a Professional Portfolio
o The culmination of the experience will be the creation of a professional portfolio cataloging the garnered leadership
Applications will open on July 1, 2018 and close on July 31, 2018.
Applications will be reviewed from Aug 1-3, 2018
Interviews will be conducted from Aug 10 -13, 2018
All Accepted Fellows will be Notified on Aug 16, 2018

Our students deserve visionary leaders who are committed to creating change in the classroom and beyond. The Halverson Alumni Fellowship seeks to position our alumni base as a force for change in the local education movement, combining the impactful efforts of alumni serving in and outside of the classroom into one mission aligned movement. The Fellowship will simultaneously develop strong teacher leaders in Jacksonville, while developing alumni skill-sets as effective educational leaders who will continue to lead the movement.
